Program Elements

Required Documents

The Mirantis Authorized Training Partner Agreement(“ATP Agreement”), which is available upon request from training-partners@mirantis.com. Mirantis will not countersign the ATP Agreement with a partner until a partner has been accepted into the ATP program.

Initial Program Fee

The Initial Program Fee is payable upon execution of the ATP Agreement.

Minimum Class Deliveries

In order to maintain sufficient delivery readiness, the ATP must deliver a minimum number of classes to customers each year. These deliveries can be any combination of public or private classes.

Mirantis Accredited Instructors

In order to maintain sufficient delivery readiness, the ATP must at all times provide a minimum number of active Mirantis Accredited Instructors in accordance with the Mirantis accreditation terms. To become a Mirantis Accredited Instructor, an individual must:

  1. Attend or “audit” the courses they intend to teach.

  2. Pass the Docker Certified Associate (DCA) exam and the Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) exam in order to teach courses in the Cloud Native curriculum track.

  3. Pass the Certified OpenStack Administrator (COA) exam in order to teach courses in the OpenStack curriculum track.

Required Contacts

The ATP must assign named points of contact for the following areas:

  • Business development – responsible for business development activities related to partner’s participation in the program. Should be able to make decisions related to participation in promotions, discounts, and marketing and related activities.

  • Scheduling – responsible for maintaining the schedule of Mirantis courses (new dates, cancellations) and maintaining the ATP’s schedule of classes listed on the Mirantis website.

  • Instructors – see “Mirantis Accredited Instructors” above.

  • Accounts payable – responsible for providing information on outstanding bills and interfacing with the ATP’s finance department.

  • Quality assurance – responsible for receiving, reviewing, and taking follow-up action related to customer CSAT survey results for the ATP’s deliveries.

Delivery Logistics Capabilities

The ATP must manage the full lifecycle of training course delivery from sign-up, hosting, administration, billing, and management of Mirantis courses with their students. Such course management includes the ability to offer e-commerce functionality to support student registration on publicly scheduled training courses.

Joint Business Reviews

Mirantis and the ATP will participate in an annual business review of the ATP training activities in order to drive continuous improvement in the training services offered by both parties.

Public Classroom Facilities

All classroom facilities used for public deliveries of Mirantis training must be submitted for Mirantis’ approval prior to its first use. The ATP must email a description of the facility (a link to a website with an adequate description is acceptable) along with representative pictures of the actual classroom to training-partner@mirantis.com.

Facility Technical Requirements

The ATP must ensure all deliveries (public or private) occur within facilities meeting the minimum specified classroom requirements.

Classroom Student Workstations

The ATP must provide each student with a modern x86 computer workstation for the duration of classroom deliveries or if the ATP is not providing student workstations, the ATP must make it clear to students prior to registration that they will need to bring their own workstation to class and what the technical requirements are for those student supplied workstations. Each workstation must have adequate internet access including the ability to access websites and other online resources essential for the class being taken.

Online Lab Capabilities

All labs for Mirantis courses must be hosted by Mirantis. This is a service provided by Mirantis to ATPs as part of the per student royalty fee.

e-Delivery Capabilities

If the ATP will deliver classes as online instructor-led “virtual” classes, the ATP must provide adequate and reliable e-delivery functionality. This can be the video conferencing capabilities included in the Mirantis provided online lab environment, or by ATP-provided mechanisms such as Zoom or similar. In any case the ATP is responsible for providing this functionality and must ensure that such “virtual” classes are adequately accessible to participating students via the chosen communication mechanisms.

Student Surveys

ATPs must request that all students complete official Mirantis provided student survey for every delivered course. A link is sent to all students who accessed the Mirantis provided labs during all deliveries. A maximum of 3 surveys can be presented to students for any given delivery (1x Mirantis official survey, 1x optional ATP survey, 1x optional 3rd party facility survey).

Course Kits

Official course kit materials are provided to ATP’s in digital form only, including instructor slides with instructor notes (web and PDF formats) and student lab guides (PDF). Links to these materials are found in the Courseware Information section.

Online Mirantis Hosted Labs

Official live lab environments for all reported students are made available online and hosted by Mirantis.

Official Certificates of Completion

All students will receive official Mirantis branded Certificates of Completion via email after the end of the course.

Student Satisfaction Surveys

All students will receive an email after class with a link to complete the official student satisfaction survey. Survey results are made available online to the ATP.

Product Licenses

The ATP may be granted an internal-use-only license to generally available Mirantis commercial products under a Not for Resale (“NFR”)  Agreement so that the ATP can learn about the products and prepare for training delivery. Once an NFR is mutually executed, license files will be provided.

Marketing and Sales Support

The ATP’s name and logo will be listed on the Mirantis website. In addition, the ATP’s public courses as listed in the Mirantis Scheduling System are shown on the Mirantis website. This site is marketed and promoted regularly. Additional marketing and promotion opportunities are announced as available.

Learning Management System

The ATP will use the Mirantis Scheduling System to make public classes visible on the public training schedule, to report deliveries for royalty processing on all classes, and to ensure that students receive official surveys and certificates of completion. See the ATP Operations section for additional information.

ATP Enablement

Enablement includes ongoing regular communications including webinars, feedback forums, curriculum roadmap updates, and more.

Operational Support

The ATP may receive assistance on operational questions or issues related to Mirantis training delivery by contacting training-partner@mirantis.com. Additionally, support for Mirantis hosted lab environments is available through our vendor Strigo and is subject to Strigo’s SLAs.

Technical Support

The ATP will have access to limited Mirantis technical support for assistance with any technical questions that arise during preparation for course delivery via their NFR product license.
